A pilot has lost their life following the crash of a single-engine plane that erupted in flames near a diner and nail salon in Texas. The distressing incident was captured in videos depicting the aircraft ablaze near a shopping centre in Plano.
The FAA reported that the Mooney M20 crashed beside Mama’s Daughter’s Diner and Nail Addiction at approximately 6 pm on Tuesday.
Authorities confirmed that the pilot, who perished in the fiery crash, was the sole occupant of the plane. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed.
‘Thankfully, the plane did not actually land on or collide with anything,’ stated Plano Fire-Rescue Public Information Officer Daniel Daly.
