Morrisons worker repeatedly stabbed during horror attack in front of shoppers

A Morrisons employee has been stabbed multiple times in a frenzied assault witnessed by horrified shoppers. The 34-year-old woman faced the attack at the supermarket in Castle Quay on St Helier waterfront in Jersey just after 1pm on Saturday.

Authorities investigating the appalling incident revealed that the 55-year-old man “was known” to his victim. Armed officers swiftly arrived at the scene, bustling with early Christmas shoppers. While shaken staff hurried to assist the severely injured woman, onlookers spotted a man fleeing from the store.

Subsequently, police announced the arrest of a man on suspicion of attempted murder; he is currently in custody. Eyewitnesses indicated that the woman is a staff member at the store, though it remains unclear whether she worked at the check-out or in another “front of house” role.

There’s ambiguity regarding whether the attacker was an employee at Morrisons or a customer entering the store.

Law enforcement cordoned off the area and erected crime tents outside the store, which was evacuated. Jersey Police assured that there is no perceived threat to the general public.
