British dad found dead on boat in middle of Atlantic Ocean

A British father was discovered deceased in his boat after undertaking a challenge to row 3,000 miles across the Atlantic. Michael Holt, aged 54, tragically lost his life in his cabin 700 miles into the charity challenge, just four weeks after commencing the journey.

The Welshman, Michael, had been providing updates throughout the expedition, facing various challenges such as strong winds, the loss of an oar, and even a shark attacking his rudder.

He embarked on January 27 for the 2,942-mile journey, anticipated to take between 40 to 110 days to row from Gran Canaria to Barbados.

During the epic adventure, his family reported a loss of contact with him. Michael, who was a type 1 diabetic, was discovered deceased in his cabin two days later.
