A British soldier has been killed while off duty in Kenya, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has said.
It is understood 32-year-old Maj Kevin McCool was on a motorcycle trip off base when he was attacked.Â
MoD officials confirmed the soldier’s next of kin have been informed, but said it would not be releasing any details of what happened.
Defence Secretary Grant Shapps led tributes to Maj McCool describing him as “an exceptional person”.
