A 29-YEAR-OLD woman has been stabbed in Aberfan – with police searching for the knifeman and multiple schools placed on lockdown. Residents have been advised to steer clear of the area following the attack at 9.10 am this morning.

The woman has been transported to hospital after emergency services, including an air ambulance, provided her with “advanced critical care.” Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Armed police are still present in the area, and schools are in lockdown as a precaution.
