A teenage boy critically injured in a hit-and-run in Manchester has died.
Marcus Simmons-Allen, 18, was hit by a suspected stolen car on George Richards Way, Broadheath. on Sunday night.
He was taken to hospital with critical head injuries.
The driver of the car – a purple Volkswagen Scirocco, believed to be stolen – failed to stop at the scene.
On Tuesday night police Greater Manchester Police said Marcus, from Altrincham, had tragically died from his injuries.
Sgt Philip Shaw, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident and our thoughts are very much with Marcus’s loved ones at this time.
“This is a fast paced investigation and there are a number of lines of enquiry being explored.
“However, we need the help of the public to try and locate the driver of the vehicle that failed to stop at the scene of the collision.”
