Sports star’s son suffers cardiac arrest in workout session – taken to the Intensive Care Unit

LeBron James’ son, Bronny, was rushed to hospital this week after experiencing a cardiac arrest. The 18-year-old, son of the Lakers icon, was taken to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for treatment on Monday, after falling ill during a workout at USC.

A spokesperson for the family confirmed the news to TMZ, explaining that the aspiring athlete is now in a ‘stable condition’.

A statement read: ‘Yesterday, while practicing, Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. Medical staff promptly attended to Bronny and took him to the hospital.

‘He is now in a stable condition and is no longer in the ICU. We kindly request respect and privacy for the James family, and we will provide updates to the media when more information becomes available.’

They added: ‘LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly express their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.’
