FORMER Barcelona player Marinho Peres has passed away at the age of 76.
The ex-defender represented Brazil in the 1974 World Cup and garnered praise from the iconic Johan Cruyff for his on-field displays.
Peres joined Barcelona following the tournament and remained at the Nou Camp for a span of two years.
Throughout his 16-year playing career, he primarily plied his trade in Brazil and earned 15 caps for the national team.
