Vince Hill, the renowned singer famous for his 1967 hit “Edelweiss,” has passed away at the age of 89.
Born in Holbrooks, Coventry, he initially sang with big bands and vocal groups before achieving his first solo success in 1962.
Throughout his illustrious career, Hill collaborated with notable singers like Tony Christie and Cilla Black and also hosted programs on television and radio.
Pete Chambers from Coventry Music Museum expressed, “He truly was an exceptional singer and a complete gentleman. He possessed a velvety voice that could captivate audiences with its incredible projection. An extraordinary performer and a lovely man.”
