It has been confirmed that Tony McPhee, the singer and guitarist of the Groundhogs, has passed away at the age of 79.
McPhee, a founding member of the renowned English blues and rock band, passed away “peacefully at home.”
The sad news of McPhee’s death follows complications he experienced as a result of a fall he had last year.
The official band page of The Groundhogs took to Facebook to announce the news, stating: “We are profoundly saddened to announce that Tony (TS) McPhee, the 79-year-old guitar and blues legend, passed away peacefully at home today, 6th June, from complications following a fall last year.”
