Prince Harry has reached out to his father, brother and cousins Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, after flying in from California on Sunday afternoon ahead of laying his grandfather to rest.
Prince Philip’s funeral will be the first time The Duke of Sussex comes face to face with them since quitting his role in the family last year.
It also comes in the month after his and Meghan’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they accused the family of racism and abandoning the Duchess when she was pregnant.
A source suggested such tensions and issues would be put to one side for the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.
“Despite everything that has gone on and the wounds are still pretty raw, everyone is hoping any disputes will be parked for another day,” they said.
“This is about giving the Duke the send off he deserves surrounded by his family.”
In a further show of solidarity with the Queen and the family, the royals on Wednesday shared never-before-seen photos as they mourn the loss of Prince Philip.
