Meghan Markle faces ‘awkward’ reunion at Lilibet’s christening as tensions ‘very high’

Recent reports suggest that Harry and Meghan want their baby girl to be christened at the royal residence there with the Queenpresent.

Despite the claims, royal expert Russell Myers has suggested that the event will be “definitely awkward” as tensions between the Royal Family remain “very high”.

Speaking to Today, Mr Myers said: “It will be definitely awkward.

“Meghan isn’t flavour of the month with the family. Certainly, the family have always said they will be much-loved members of the family.

“However, we’re still talking about the fallout of the Oprah Winfrey interview, Emmy or no Emmy nomination.

“The tensions are still running very, very high within the family, indeed.”

Suggestions of unrest in the family come after multiple reports that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want their little girl to be christened in Windsor like her older brother Archie.

A source told the Daily Mail: “Harry told several people that they want to have Lili christened at Windsor, just like her brother Archie.

“They are happy to wait until circumstances allow.”

This special trip would mark Meghan’s first visit to the UK since she and Harry retired from working royal life last year.

Two year old Archie was christened in the private chapel at Windsor Castle on July 6 2019.

He wore the royal christening gown and water from the River Jordan was used.

The godparents of Archie were not made known to the public, breaking the usual royal tradition.
