A man who approached a group of women at the beach to tell them to cover up their bodies has gone viral after the confrontation was uploaded to social media.
TikTok user Ggarbagefairy, from Colorado, US, uploaded a series of clips of her and eight friends sitting on the beach when they are approached by a man, who has also shared his own video to defend his actions.
He can be heard asking the group of 18-year-olds: “Why do you dress this way? That’s a thong and that’s a bra, take young eyes into consideration, they don’t need to see pornography right in front of their eyes. You’re flaunting your stuff.”
The group repeatedly ask the man to leave them alone, as he continues: “If men of God don’t stand up, then society will go down the drain because there’s no morality.
“The reason why you’re showing your body is like ‘am I pretty enough?’ I’m just saying.”
When they ask the man what he would consider acceptable to wear on the beach, he says a one piece swimsuit and tells them: “There will come a day where you’re going to come face-to-face with God”, before a woman who is at the beach with him joins in.
The woman who uploaded the videos, known as Mia, later shared a photo of the group at the beach to show the bikinis they were wearing, and refuted his accusation that any of them were “thongs”, arguing it wouldn’t matter even if they had been.
She managed to track down the man who had approached them and tagged him in the video, prompting him to respond and “share my side of the story” after the clips went viral.
