
A man armed with a knife was spotted “running around” a London tube station as the capital’s police swarm the area in riot gear.
The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene at 6.21.pm following reports of a man “believed to be in possession of a knife.”
According to a statement, the Met BTP and the National Police Air Service remain remain at the scene and the incident is ongoing.
In a statement, Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 18:21hrs on Wednesday, 9 December to Upminster Station following reports of a man believed to be in possession of a knife.
“Officers from the Met, BTP and the National Police Air Service remain in attendance.
“There are no reported injuries.
“No arrests and enquiries continue.”
