There’s no denying that the Prince and Princess of Wales share many common interests, one of which is their competitiveness. Prince William and Kate, both 41, enjoy engaging in various sports, both individually and together.
The couple, married for over 12 years, find pleasure in activities such as bike rides and competitive sports like tennis. However, there’s one pastime that the mother-of-three embraces, which her husband cannot quite embrace.
Speaking on The Good, The Bad and The Rugby podcast, Kate explained: “Personally, I love swimming. Cold swimming, the colder, the better. I absolutely love it. It’s to the point where William is like, ‘you’re crazy’.” She shared this with host Mike Tindall, who is married to the late Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter Zara Phillips.
The sporty royal continued: “It’s dark, it’s raining, and I seek out the cold water. I love it, but I wouldn’t want to be put through my paces in a freezing sub-zero ice bath.” Mike, who shares a close bond with William and Kate, added: “We all get together, and I know she’ll make me do something.”
Earlier in the year, Kate mentioned that she even has a robe she uses, especially after swims. During an outing in Wales, where they were set to meet the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, Kate made the remark after someone was wearing a robe to stay warm in the rain.
