Twelve people have been injured, with several in critical condition, after a gunman threw a grenade into a bar in Grenoble, France. The incident took place at a pub shortly after 8pm on Wednesday, according to local authorities.

“A person came in, threw a grenade, didn’t say a word, it seems, and then fled,” said prosecutor François Touret de Coucy.

The attacker was also reported to be carrying a Kalashnikov rifle, although it was not used during the assault. Authorities have stated that they are not classifying the attack as an act of terrorism.
