FULHAM’S Premier League match against Bournemouth has been postponed following Tom Cairney’s severe head injury. Cairney, 33, was part of Fulham’s defensive wall when Bournemouth’s Alex Scott lined up a free-kick from a promising position. Scott’s powerful strike struck the midfielder on the head, leading to Fulham’s physio team rushing onto the field at Craven Cottage.
The game was paused for five minutes as the Scotland international received treatment and was left with a bloody injury. Fortunately, after medical attention, Cairney was able to stand up and resume playing.
This incident occurred shortly after the West London club extended the Scotsman’s contract by an additional year.
