CORONATION Street icon Denise Black has disclosed that she was urgently taken to the Accident and Emergency department after suffering a severe fall resulting in a broken arm and foot.
The 65-year-old actress gained fame for her portrayal of Denise Osbourne, Ken Barlow’s partner, on the popular ITV soap from 1992 to 2017.
Denise expressed her gratitude to the doctors and nurses who assisted in her recovery following the unexpected accident through her social media account.
Accompanied by a collection of photos, including X-ray scans from the hospital, the soap legend captioned, “Now that I’m on the mend, I can share the news. I fractured my crooked arm. As I fell, I dropped what I was carrying, which resulted in a broken foot. Remember Hoffnung’s Bricklayers joke? Look it up on Google. I am that joke.”
She went on to give a heartfelt shout-out to doctors and nurses across the country, particularly the cherished NHS, stating, “You make humanity appear virtuous. The great news is that I’m still able to film. Even better news is that I’m healing. Granted, I may be a bit more crooked than before, but let’s face it, aren’t all the best people? Inside and out. #embraceyourwonkiness #thankyounhs.”
