The Rolling Stones icon and drummer Charlie Watts has died at the age of 80-years-old.
His London publicist Bernard Doherty confirmed the news in a statement to the PA news agency.
The drummer’s death comes weeks after he was forced to pull out of the band’s No Filter tour.
He was forced to undergo emergency surgery in London.
According to reports he underwent a ‘successful procedure’ in London after a routine check-up highlighted a problem.
It was the first time dedicated Charlie missed a tour since 1963.
He joked at the time the announcement was made: “For once, my timing has been a little off.”
