BREAKING NEWS: Dead body found by cliffs near G7 summit

A dead body has been found by cliffs in Cornwall near where the G7 summit is taking place, with police investigating the “unexplained” death.

Emergency services including Devon and Cornwall Police, the RNLI and Coastguard were called out at around 11.15am this morning to the North Cornwall coastline.

A search was conducted in the North Cliffs and Basset’s Cove areas, with marine traffic trackers showing activity around Hell’s Mouth, which is not far away from Carbis Bay, where the G7 Summit began today.

In a statement, police confirmed that a dead body had been located near Basset’s Cove at around 11.30am, reports CornwallLive.

The death is described as “unexplained” but is not believed to be suspicious.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Police attended an area near Basset’s Cove, Cornwall, after a body was located at around 11.30am.
