BREAKING: Hundreds of homes without electricity after POWER CUT

Hundreds of homes in north and east Manchester have been hit by a power cut.

The black-out began at around 4.15pm.

Electricity North West said 522 customers have been left with no power.

The situation could continue until around 7pm.

Engineers are on their way to work on a fix. The power cut is affecting homes and businesses with an M40, M10 and M11 postcode.

This covers areas in Miles Platting, Moston and Newton Heath.

In a tweet, Electricity North West said: “We’re receiving a high number of calls from #M40 & M11 areas of Manchester, reporting loss of power.

“This is currently affecting 522 properties and engineers are on their way to the area now.

“Updates will follow shortly.”
