A four-year-old boy has passed away after sustaining knife injuries at a residence in East London.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police reported receiving a call at approximately 10.50pm on Wednesday, expressing concerns for the welfare of a child at a property in Montague Road, Hackney.

The boy was discovered with knife injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Regrettably, he was later pronounced dead in the hospital.
