Shamed footballer Adam Johnson screamed in pain staggering out of a bar after spending the night chatting to a teenage girl, it has emerged.
The ex England winger could hardly stand after drinking £125 bottles of vodka and talking to the 18-year-old at a busy student bar.
A friend had to catch him as he stumbled down the steps at Dickens Inn, on Middlesbrough’s Teesside University campus.
The former Sunderland player shouted as he appeared to twist his ankle after his night out with pals, reports The Sun.
One of them helped the 31-year-old to a £75,000 Mercedes 4×4 before it was driven away.
Johnson served three years in prison for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl.
He was released in March and now lives under strict parole rules.
During his night of partying he was seen wearing a £110,000 limited edition designer watch.
An onlooker claimed that he spent part of the evening chatting to the teenager.
They told The Sun: “Johnson was out of it when he came out of the pub.
He was hammered, completely smashed. He could barely walk.
“But he didn’t seem to care. All he cared about was having a good time — and chatting to pretty girls who are lot younger than he is.”
Since serving half of his six-year sentence, Johnson has kept a low profile as he tries to readjust to life outside prison again.
However he seemed in high spirits when he arrived with friends at the Middlesbrough bar about 11pm on Saturday last week.
When approached by Mirror Online for a comment, a spokeperson for Mr Johnson said: “Adam didn’t hurt his ankle he’s fine
