A PREGNANT mum has denied murdering her two young daughters within three weeks of each other.
Louise Porton, 23, is accused of killing three-year-old Lexi Draper and 16-month-old Scarlett Vaughan last year.
Porton, who is expected to give birth later this year, will now stand trial on June 24 after pleading not guilty to two charges of murder.
Birmingham Crown Court heard she allegedly murdered Lexi on January 15 2018 and Scarlett on February 1 2018.
Wearing a woollen cardigan, Porton spoke only to confirm her date of birth, nationality and the not guilty pleas.
Her eldest daughter died in hospital after being found unconscious in her home in Rugby in the early hours of the morning.
Little Scarlett then died on February 1 after paramedics were scrambled to the house when she fell ill, police confirmed.
Porton was remanded in prison custody until a further hearing on May 17.
