Police have released a picture of a man they are seeking in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in Brixton.
A 24-year-old woman was killed in the crash at the Brixton Hill junction with Dumbarton Road, just after midnight on Saturday (January 12).
The car police believe was involved in the hit-and-run, a blue Volkswagen Golf, was tracked down in Brixton earlier today (January 13).
The breakthrough was followed by police revealing the identity of a man they are seeking in connection with the fatal crash
aron Blackwood Jones, who also goes by the name Aaron Blackwood, is a 27-year-old who police have not yet been able to trace.
He’s known to have links to Wembley, as well as the Wandsworth and Lambeth areas.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene of the crash at 12.30am on Saturday and attempted to save the 24-year-old pedestrian’s life.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin have now been informed of her untimely death.
Police say the car had been “travelling at speed” when the crash happened and rather than stopping, the driver sped off.
