Phillip Schofield made a “dig” at his presenting pals Ant and Dec on the NTAs red carpet.
The silver fox, who is up against the pair in the Best Presenter category, has said the twosome will “definitely win” despite Ant McPartlin taking some time out over 2018.
The presenter was involved in a drink drive crash which led to his admission into a rehabilitation centre so he could battle against his addiction.
But Phil reckons that even though Ant was barely seen on TV in 2018, the pair will still take the gong for the 18th year.
When asked about his chances to take home the NTA for Best Presenter, he said: “We all know it’s the Ant and Dec Awards.
“I think Holly is in with a good shot though.”
The Geordie pair have certainly dominated the awards show for some time now, taking home the presenting award every year the awards have taken place since 2001.
They have also bagged entertainment show awards for their hit shows I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Saturday Night Takeaway and even Pop Idol back in the day.
The pair also even nabbed an award for their Gameshow Marathon, which ran as a seven-episode event in 2005 as part of ITV’s 50th Anniversary.
But Phil and Holly have sadly never taken this gong, despite their morning show This Morning being a regular winner at the awards for Best Daytime Show.
Despite the pair being as close a duo as Ant and Dec, they have sadly been split up for their presenting as they have been forced to battle it out against one another in the awards.
Phil hosts some of his own shows, especially the How To Spend Well series, former The Cube and new gameshow 5 Gold Rings, while Holly joined Dec for this year’s I’m A Celebrity, and has also worked on Celebrity Juice and her shortlived football quiz Play to the Whistle.
The pair are currently back together to host This Morning and Dancing on Ice , with this series being one of the most controversial yet.
