A mother of seven has claimed none of her children have ever had a tantrum – sparking outrage from This Morning viewers.
Gemma Rawnsley appeared on the show alongside Vanessa Feltz to analyse some footage of a father and daughter, after he was spotted dragging her through an airport by her hood, as his second daughter followed behind.
While Vanessa felt it was likely a game or some kind of enjoyable moment between them, Gemma accused him of having “no relationship” with his daughter and even suggested it could be “abusive.”
She even said that none of her children had ever had a tantrum in a supermarket or talked back in her 14 years of child-rearing.
Gemma said: “I can honestly say in 14 and a half years of raising children and I have seven children – I’ve never once had an incident… let’s just stop assuming she was fine with it.
“We don’t need to villify but what we can do is have a conversation about… why are we always assuming children are such a burden and difficult to care for.
“I see a breakdown of relationship there – I think that for me I’ve never had any one of my children answer back to me or an incident where they’ve thrown a tantrum in a supermarket.
“I’ve based my ethos of parenting on relationship, mutual respect, conversation, and as a result we have a friendship and honestly, I would pick my child up and I would carry them in a tender, loving way.”
She later said that, though she didn’t believe this father is “abusive,” she said one could never be certain as any guesses on what happened before the video clip are purely “assumption.”
But fans were mainly concerned with her suggestion that she has never had to deal with her children in such a shocking moment.
One fan said: “Just cause kids have a tantrum in a supermarket don’t make people bad parents , you judgmental idiot , can’t believe your 7 kids have never had a tantrum bulls***!!! # ThisMorning”
Another added: “This woman on # thismorning Jesus wept, give her a badge…parent of the year! “My children have never given me back chat” bore off, yes they have”
A third said: “This woman has 7 kids and says she has never had one of her children have a tantrum in the supermarket absolute bulls***. Iv never been shopping without at least one tantrum from my 2 # ThisMorning”
