A GRANDMA was savagely raped in a public park by a 23-year-old who heartlessly congratulated her on a “good job”.
Manasa Qoro struck the 59-year-old woman on the back of the head as she strolled through a park in Sydney before subjected to the sickening sexual assault.
Qoro told his victim “I will f**king kill you” and said he would “blow” in her mouth.
After the horrifying ordeal, Qoro spat on her and cleaned his genitals by wiping it on the victim’s discarded jeans.
He then praised her for a “good job” while carrying out a fist bump, reports the Macarthur Chronicle.
The incident happened at about 9pm on November 12, 2017 but Qoro has only just been convicted.
Qoro had been arrested three days after his attack when his fingerprint was found on sunglasses left at the scene.
His DNA was found on the woman and on her semen stained jeans.
Fijian-born Qoro pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault without consent and sexual intercourse without consent.
During sentencing at the Campbelltown District Court on Friday, Judge Chris O’Brien read a victim impact statement to the court.
In it, she said: “’I don’t know who I am anymore. What is left of me is an empty shell.”
The victim explained the rap had left feeling suicidal and has been admitted to psychiatric wards twice.
Tragically she said she did not feel like she deserved her grandchildren’s love but felt “dirty” instead.
She said: “It is like he (Qoro) has been imprinted on my space… I can smell him.”
Judge O’Brien said: “She had a right, as does any member of this community, to feel safe as she walked through the streets, no matter what time she walked through.”
Qoro was jailed for 11 and a half years with seven and a half years non parole.
He will be eligible for parole in May 2025.
