Fans are guessing what Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will name their baby, with speculation on the rise as the Duchess of Sussex reaches her due date.
Bookies are now tipping Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, to pick a name that was loved by Princess Diana.
According to Ladbrokes, the Italian name Allegra has entered the running, with bookies slashing odds from 100/1 to just 20/1.
The moniker means ‘joyful and lively’ and is said to be the name Diana wanted to use had she had a daughter.
According to The Daily Express, the late Princess Diana reportedly wanted to call her baby Allegra after her friend Lady Annabel Goldsmith mentioned the name.
The source said: “She thought it was a beautiful name.”
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s probably the most bizarre eleventh hour move we could’ve seen, but the money is coming in thick and fast for Allegra.
“We wouldn’t be surprised to see the name right up there with the frontrunners by the time the birth gets announced.”
