Matt Lucas calls police over Michael Jackson ‘paedo’ death threat

Little Britain star Matt Lucas has contacted police after he got a death threat for calling Michael Jackson a ‘paedo’

Little Britain star Matt Lucas has called in police after he got a death threat for calling Michael Jackson a “paedo”.

The funnyman, 44, took to Twitter this week to praise the two men featured in controversial Jackson documentary Leaving Neverland.

He called Wade Robson and james Safechuck “brave” for speaking out about allegations of sexual abuse at the hands of the King Of Pop.

However, Lucas was subsequently bomabarded with hateful messages from devoted Jackson fans.

He revealed he even got a death threat and made a complaint to police over it.

In a post on Twitter, he wrote: “Since I saw LEAVING NEVERLAND & said I believe the testimonies of Robson & Safechuck, a handful of MJ fans have attacked me on social media.

“I’ve even had a death threat, which is with the police.

This charmer is calling me a paedophile. And we wonder why victims don’t speak up.”

Jackson was thrust back into the headlines last month after the screening of controversial documentary Leaving Neverland at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

The documentary contains explosive claims of sexual abuse against children.

Jackson’s family condemned the movie in a scathing statement, comparing it to a “public lynching”.

The Thriller hitmaker was tried on child molestations charges in 2004-2005 – but he was acquitted on every charge.

*Leaving Neverland, a shocking new documentary about the life and death of Michael Jackson, will air in two parts on March 6 and 7 at 9pm on Channel 4
