Man, 21, dies after getting into difficulty in water in British park

A 21-YEAR-OLD man has died after getting into difficulty in a reservoir in a Brit park during this weekend’s hot weather

The man’s body was recovered from Chasewater Reservoir in Burntwood, Staffordshire this evening, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to the park at around 6pm today following reports two people had got into difficulty while in the water.

A teenage girl made it safely out of the water, but tragically a 21-year-old man died.

Emergency services including West Midlands Ambulance Service, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and Staffordshire Air Ambulance all attended.

A police spokesman said: “The identities of the people involved are known to officers and their next of kin are being informed.

“They will be offered support by specially trained officers.”

The tragic incident comes as Britain sweltered in hot weather following yesterday’s hottest day of the year.

Temperatures remained in the mid-20s today following Saturday’s 34C scorcher.
