Love Island star Malin Andersson’s baby dies just four weeks after being born

The Love Island star announced the sad news on Instagram – exactly a month after she gave birth to Consy

Love Island star Malin Andersson’s baby has tragically died just four weeks after being born.

Little Consy was born seven weeks early on December 23, and due to ‘complications’ was immediately rushed to the intensive care unit at London’s Great Ormond Street hospital.

And this morning Malin, 25, shared the heartbreaking news that her beloved daughter had died.

“Completely in love with you… and my Mum just wanted you to be with her. Your time wasn’t ready yet. Mummy loves you,” she wrote.

“I stayed with you each day.. you opened your eyes one last time for me and I saw those beautiful big brown eyes. I’m so sorry I couldn’t do anymore. Go be with grandma Consy.”

It is the fourth heartbreaking tragedy for Malin, who lost her mum to breast cancer in November 2017 after it returned for a third time.

Her dad also died from skin cancer after battling the disease twice, and her good friend and Love Island co-star Sophie Gradon died last year in a suspected suicide.

And in a fitting tribute, the Love Island 2016 star revealed that she and partner Tom Kemp had chosen to name their little one after her mum.

Happy New Year..Tom and I are so happy to let you all know that our baby girl CONSY arrived in this world 23rd December 2018, seven weeks early,” she wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture of their little girl in an incubator.

However, she confirmed there were problems, telling fans, “She is so beautiful, we are totally in love with her and feel so blessed that she is here but unfortunately due to complications, she is currently being cared for at Great Ormond Street.

“We have received a number of messages over the past week and there has been a lot of speculation and so we wanted to share our news with you so you could hear from us first hand.”

Revealing that she was unable to even hold her baby, she admitted watching her little girl suffer was even more traumatic than losing her mum.

“This has been the most difficult time I have ever gone through. I just want to hold her.. It’s different to my mum last year. My mum was ready to go.. my little girl isn’t. She has given me the ultimate purpose in my life and I’m not prepared to let her go,” she said.

Sharing a picture of the hospital ward she was sitting in, she said: “Please get all your healing and prayers in for baby Consy”

She also shared a picture of her baby’s tiny hand in hers, and a print of little Consy’s hand on a ‘My first Christmas’ homemade decoration.

Malin was overjoyed to announce her pregnancy in June after a whirlwind romance with Tom, 27.

He’d just come out of a nine-year relationship when they met, and had been with Malin for just 10 months when they conceived.

However, their relationship was rocked when she accused him of cheating on her while she was pregnant.

“Lol so just found out I’ve been cheated on… Being pregnant n cheated on. Lush,” she tweeted.

However, they were reunited and back on track by the gender reveal party in September.
