The loved ones of Love Island star Curtis Pritchard have opened up about his sexuality after that sensational kiss with Tommy Fury.
Curtis and Tommy shocked viewers when they locked lips after a tender exchange of affection.
But Curtis’ mum and brother, Strictly Come Dancing star AJ, say he’s simply confident enough in his sexuality to express how he’s feeling without worrying what others will think.
When asked about the bromance, mum Debi told OK! magazine: “I love it! He likes to have male buddies. He loves boxing too, but I didn’t know how to teach him that so we went for ballroom dancing. Curtis is comfortable enough in his sexuality to be confident in expressing himself. It doesn’t matter how other people perceive it.”
It’s 2019. He can kiss Tommy on the lips,” AJ added.
Debi said her son “won’t be bothered” about what people are saying about his sexuality and that he refuses to “conform”.
The proud mum also said that people had questioned Curtis’ sexuality in the past, but that people should accept him as he is.
She said: “Everyone questions everything. It’s sadly the way the world is evolving, but you just have to accept people as they are.”
AJ added: “For us it’s always about being happy. You don’t have to question what you’ve done as long as you’re happy in that moment.”
Debi and AJ also gave Amy Hart their stamp of approval and say they’re glad Curtis has found someone he can be himself around.
AJ says there’s no way his brother’s head can be turned.
But Curtis has been seen admitting that he wants to get to know the new girls after Amy went off to live in Casa Amor with the other original girls.
Curtis told Tommy he was confused and didn’t know why he felt like he wanted to talk to the new girls.
But despite all that, Debi and AJ think Curtis and Amy have got what it takes to make it as a couple on the outside world.
