Love Island 2019 starts sooner than you think – but who are the islanders and is Caroline Flack hosting?

LOVE Island is just weeks away from kicking off its fifth series on ITV2.

And as the new season nears, viewers are keen to know who has been cast for the reality show and, when it will air and, more importantly, will Caroline Flack be returning to her hosting duties.

When does Love Island 2019 start?

Love Island series five will hit TV in 2019, however, an exact date is yet to be given.

The show typically airs in June for a now extended eight weeks and it looks set to be the same this year thanks to 2018’s record-breaking ratings success.

It was previously revealed that the show is set for another five-year run and hopeful applicants must be free and available for filming for ten weeks between May and July.

Series four of Love Island ended with a one and a half hour special on Monday, July 30, 2018.

Will Caroline Flack be presenting Love Island 2019?

Caroline Flack has presented Love Island since it returned to TV in 2015 and has made no secret of how much she enjoys it.

The 38-year-old also hosts Love Island: Aftersun live every Sunday night which has also enjoyed its highest viewership to date.

Flack appeared to have confirmed her return to the dating show for its fifth run by revealing that she was gearing up to meet the official cast for this year’s edition.

What’s really exciting about this week is that we start filming for Love Island 2019,” Flack gushed on Instagram.

“And by the end of the week I’m going to have potentially have seen the cast for this year, which is really exciting. And mad that’s it’s come around this quick! So I’ll let you know what happens. It’s going to be a long, hot summer and all that.”

How can you apply to appear on Love Island 2019?

While applications for Love Island 2019 still appear to be open, a cast has supposedly already chosen for the upcoming series.

Hopefuls apply online by filling in an application form on the ITV website.

The 2019 form reads: “ITV2 are looking for vibrant singles from across the UK who want to head to the sun, in search of a summer of love.

“The chosen cast will spend time in a luxury villa, getting to know one another, but to remain in paradise they must win the hearts of the public and their fellow Islanders who ultimately decide their fate on Love Island.

Who has been cast for the season 5?

Unfortunately, ITV has yet to reveal details concerning cast members for the forthcoming series.

Given that the show is known to air right around June, it would seem as if filming with the new members is well underway.

An official press release via the network isn’t expected until May – the month in which ITV has been known to roll out promotional adverts for the show.
