Michael Jackson’s sister was estranged from the family at the time she made her sensational claims
LaToya Jackson is seen publicly accusing her brother Michael of being a predatory paedophile in astonishing freshly-unearthed footage.
The clip from 1993 shows the late star’s little sister tell a press conference that she, “cannot, and will not, be a silent collaborator of his crimes against small, innocent children.”
“If I remain silent then it means I fuel the guilt and humiliation these children are feeling and I think it’s very wrong,” she told the cameras before claiming to have seen cheques for ‘very, very large sums’ made payable to the parents of ‘these children’.
Alleging that she, herself, had been sexually abused by an unnamed assailant, she continued, “I am a victim myself and I know what it feels like, and these kids are going to be scarred for the rest of their lives and I don’t want to see any more innocent, small children being affected this way.
“I love Michael dearly but I feel even more sorry for these children because they don’t have a life anymore, they don’t.”
She then asked viewers to consider what a then 35-year-old man was doing spending long periods of time with young boys.
“Now you stop and think for one second and you tell me, what 35 year old man is going to take a little boy and stay with him for 30 days?” she said.
And take another boy and stay with him for five days in a room and never leave the room?
How many of you out there are 35 years old? How many would take little kids and do that? That are nine, 10, 11 years old?
“I love my brother but it’s wrong.”
Her comments were made after the father of 13-year-old Jordy Chandler accused Jackson of molesting his son.
No charges were ever brought and the case was settled out of court.
At the time, LaToya was estranged from her family, who accused her of making money from lying and of being paid to speak out against him.
In later years she claimed her then-husband Jack Gordon forced her to make the allegations and took back everything she’d said.
