Horror as man in his 50s is stabbed near the entrance to Kew Gardens in west London

A man was stabbed near the entrance to Kew Gardens in west London on Sunday morning

The victim, who is in his 50s, was knifed in Royal Parade in the upscale London suburb of Kew just before 8am this morning.

The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition after the stabbing, police said.

Police have cordoned off the scene outside an estate agency and a wine shop, near Kew Gardens Underground station, as they investigate the attack.

The cordon is in place just five minutes’ walk from the gates of the world-famous botanical gardens.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing, a spokesman for the Met said.

The investigation is being conducted by Richmond CID.
