Holly Willoughby slammed Dancing On Ice star Gemma for lacking professionalism – but is happy to present after a boozy night at the NTAs
Holly Willoughby has seemingly accepted that she will present This Morning hungover tomorrow.
The presenter joked about turning up feeling worse for wear last year after the National Television Awards.
Holly and co-host Phillip Schofield have made turning up bleary-eyed and bushy tailed after the boozy night an annual event.
But some This Morning viewers have pointed out the hypocrisy after Holly called Gemma Collins out for being ‘unprofessional’.
Holly slammed the Dancing On Ice star for her ‘diva’ antics and lack of professionalism – but joked about having a boozy night at the NTAs.
Gemma demanded an apology from Holly last week after she stuck the knife in.
Speaking on last week’s This Morning, Holly said: “I love Gemma, I’m a big fan of hers and I love her on the show. But I do think there has to be a bit of professionalism that comes into any work you do, just a bit of pride in your work.”
On her GC alter-ego, Holly added: “I love that side of her but professionalism will always outweigh any of that diva behaviour.”
Fast-forward to this week and Holly is preparing to turn up to work hungover.
At the top of today’s show, Phil said: “Do you remember what this feels like? Opening presenting a show in one-piece.”
Teasing being hungover, giggling Holly replied: “Fast-forward 24 hours and it might not be the same situation.”
Later in the show, Holly admitted she was probably going to get very drunk.
“I just said i want to go to the NTAs tonight but not with me,” she said. “I’m an idiot and I don’t trust myself. I’ll get giddy and have fun and not want to go home.”
Phil replied: “That’s why I want to go with you.”
Furious This Morning viewers took to Twitter to point out the hypocrisy.
One viewer said: “Wait… so @hollywills calls @missgemcollins unprofessional for leaving early yet she turned up to film this morning drunk and in last nights outfit hmm…”
“Any show advocating drunk or potentially drunk staff at work is irresponsible,” added another.
A third sarcastically put: “Can’t wait for tomorrows ‘lets pretend we are drunk after the NTA’ start to the show. Its been hilarious for the last 5 years, lets do it again.”
*This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10.30am
