Harry Redknapp has scored his first big deal since winning I’m A Celeb – a £500,000 stint as the new face of McDonald’s.
Big cheeses at the fast food chain have signed him up for sports-themed TV ads set to go out in the spring.
Former Tottenham boss Harry, 71, was crowned jungle king last month after fans warmed to his cheeky quips, fondness for jam roly-poly and unstinting love for his wife of 54 years, Sandra.
An insider said: “Since Harry left the jungle everybody’s been vying for his signature. McDonald’s won out and they have a star striker in Harry.
The ads touch upon a healthier approach to life and Harry’s time on I’m A Celeb, so it’s unlikely his beloved roly-poly will make an appearance. They’re sure to be a big hit.”
Industry experts say Harry could rake in millions from a McFlurry of other TV offers, books and endorsements off the back of I’m A Celeb.
The McDonald’s deal sees Harry follow in the footsteps of soccer pundit son Jamie, 45, who has appeared in ads for Thomas Cook.
Harry, who also managed West Ham, Portsmouth and Southampton, is back on telly soon, whipping 13 England legends into shape for ITV series Match Fit.
There are also calls for Harry and Sandra, 71, to get their own reality show.
A PR aide for Harry said: “We can’t comment on confidential agreements between Harry and any companies.”
