Girl, killed and three other teens seriously injured in crash

A SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD girl has been killed and another three teens seriously injured after a car crash last night.

The girl was in a red Ford Fiesta when it collided with a black Mercedes Denbighshire, Wales, at about 7.30pm

She tragically died at the scene, on the B5105 between Efenechtyd and Ruthin.

The 17-year-old male driver and two female passengers, aged 16 and 17, were seriously injured.

They were airlifted to a Stoke hospital.

The 52-year-old male driver and 76-year-old female passenger from the Mercedes were taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan with serious but not life threatening injuries.

Chief Inspector Alun Oldfield of North Wales Police said: “Our thoughts remains with the family of the young woman and everybody else involved in this collision.

“Our investigation is underway and we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have witnessed the collision or events leading up to it. We are also keen on speaking to anybody who may have been travelling in the area and who may have dash cam footage.

The road re-opened shortly before 3am this morning.”

It comes as a 16-year-old girl was killed when she was hit by a Nissan pick-up in the early hours of this morning in North Devon.

The teen girl died at the scene about 12.40am today on the A361 near Trimstone.
