Gemma Collins Dancing on Ice row: Now Christopher Dean speaks out on ‘The GC’

The TOWIE star has made few friends backstage at Dancing On Ice, with both judges and presenters questioning her work ethic

Holly Willoughby and Jason Gardiner have already expressed doubts about Gemma Collins’s work ethic in Dancing On Ice. Now Olympic gold medallist Christopher Dean has weighed in on The GC.

While not as scathing as fellow-judge Jason Gardiner, Chris is also sceptical about Gemma’s staying power in the competition.

Some of them have a background of discipline because they’ve been in a band or been an athlete. That’s something Gemma hasn’t done before. I hope she will stay for the whole show this week” he told the Daily Star.

After the TOWIE star scored just 16 points out of a possible 40, Chris expressed concerns about the amount of time Gemma is devoting to her ice skating:

“I wasn’t aware that Gemma had left early until a while afterwards when people were talking about it.

“What Gemma needs to learn is it’s all about being part of a team. So I’d like her to be part of a team.”

Asked about his tips for the series ultimate winner, Gemma was notably not on Chris’s list. Finnish pop sensation Saara Alto and former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton got a mention but Chris’s top tip at this stage is Strictly bad boy James Jordan who shows all the signs of being able to his dancefloor prowess to the ice

For her own part, Gemma has angrily called for for Dancing on Ice hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to make a public apology after accusing her on live TV of not being professional.

The TOWIE girl has demanded an intervention by ITV bosses to clear the air ahead of this week’s show.

Gemma, 37, claims she has been almost forced into hiding by the ‘diva’ row that has raged since last week – after she allegedly kept the whole cast and crew waiting while she took a nap.

And she wants producers to launch a probe into who fed Phil and Holly “false information” about her behaviour.

Gemma said if she is voted off on Sunday night she will blame comments made by the duo and by co-host Kem Cetinay.
