Gang rivals fight running battle with knives — as parents collect children from school

KNIFE thugs fight a running battle on a residential street — as horrified parents collect their children from school.

Video footage shows the four rival gang members stabbing at each other in Croydon, South London, at 4.20pm on Friday, leaving at least one teenager with knife wounds.

Two yobs on a moped pulled up next to a Peugeot — then one of them, wearing a helmet, yanked open its door and repeatedly hacked at one of the two occupants with a flick knife.

The Peugeot’s driver and passenger, who were both armed with knives, then leapt from the car.

The driver chased one moped thug while brandishing a kitchen knife — while the passenger and helmeted moped attacker squared off in the street.

A shocked dad who was picking up a child on the afternoon school run filmed the brawl.

And a witness said: “The guy on the moped stopped in front of me and just started attacking the car.

“He smashed the window and tried to stab the guy multiple times before driving off.

I could hear them saying ‘bore him up’ — which is street slang for stabbing.

“Three of them had knives but one of the guys on the moped had a flick knife. He dropped it because he was stabbing so ferociously with it. It looked like it hit bone.

“The driver of the car had a massive kitchen knife. It’s just horrible.”

Police said a 17-year-old was flown to hospital where he was treated for stab wounds.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and police are continuing to investigate.

A Section 60 stop and search provision was put in place across the whole of Croydon after the attack.

There have been at least 50 murder investigations in the capital this year, with 33 of them fatal stabbings.
