The Nothing Compares 2 U songstress’ appeal for help was shared across social media by her supportive fanbase
Sinead O’Connor has shared her concern after claiming her 14-year-old son has been ‘missing for two days’.
The 51-year-old singer, who also goes by the name Shuhada’ Sadaqat, took to Twitter to appeal for any information on her teenagers whereabouts.
Reaching out to her 40,000 followers, Sinead wrote: “‘My sweet 14 yr old son has been going missing a lot and is currently missing for the last two days. If you are a parent in whose house he has been staying or is staying, please call Dundrum Gardai.”
She added: “Not calling them is not helping him.”
The message, posted on Sunday afternoon, was subsequently retweeted by Sinead’s fanbase who offered their support.
While Sinead did not name him directly, it’s thought she was referring to her teenage boy Shane – who she shares with ex partner Donal Lunnay.
Sinead has four children in total and has been married four times.
The Irish singer made a return to the headlines last October when she announced she had changed her name after turning her back on Catholicism and converting to Islam
Sinead, who was once ordained a priest by the Irish Orthodox and Apostolic Church, made the announcement on Twitter telling fans she was proud to have become a Muslim.
In a post to fans she wrote: “This is to announce that I am proud to have become a Muslim. This is the natural conclusion of any intelligent theologian’s journey. All scripture study leads to Islam. Which makes all other scriptures redundant. I will be given (another) new name. It will be Shuhada.”
