EASTENDERS’ Natalie Cassidy is “finally comfortable” with her body after losing three stone ahead of the London Marathon.
Natalie, who plays Sonia Fowler, will be joined by her co-stars to run the marathon on April 28 and admitted their training has helped teach her how to eat.
The 35-year-old soap star revealed: “I have learnt how to eat and how to be comfortable with who I am … You get wiser as you get older and I just feel much more confident and comfortable.”
The nine strong EastEnders running squad includes Jake Wood (Max Branning), Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale), Emma Barton (Honey Mitchell), Kelly Shirley (Carly Wicks) Tanya Franks (Rainie Cross) Jamie Borthwick (Jay Brown) and Jane Slaughter (queen vic barmaid).
The group are helping each other stay motivated, with Natalie explaining to podcast RunPod: “We’ve suddenly become this little team of people and we’re so close, we’ve got whatsapp groups and we go out together and we post our runs and it gives you motivation.”
The EastEnders actress has agreed to run in the annual event in honour of her former co-star Dame Barbara Windsor.
The legendary actress has Alzheimer’s and a number of her former co-stars are joining Barbara’s husband Scott Mitchell to raise money for Dementia Revolution.
The 81-year-old was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2014 and husband Scott, revealed the sad news last year.
Natalie, who has daughters Eliza, eight, and Joanie, two, has been working hard to get ready for the marathon.
She previously revealed her desire to keep off the pounds got so extreme that she was bordering on having an eating disorder.
The TV star has been outspoken about her weight in the past and said in a 2009 interview with Heat!: “I really wasn’t well.
“I was bordering on having an eating disorder.
“There were nights I would go out for dinner and then I’d go home and take laxatives because I didn’t want the food inside me.
