Jean Slater could be set to suffer a heartbreaking death in a harrowing end to her cancer storyline.

The much-loved character, played by Gillian Wright, is putting her health at risk by hiding out in a caravan after struggling to deal with her family’s response to her potential cancer diagnosis.

However Martin and Kat made a shocking discovering after snooping at Jean’s notes while at the doctor’s and posing as Jean to get her results.

The pair were later reprimanded by an angry Sonia, who hit out at them for breaking confidentiality rules.

Yet Sonia was clearly worried about Jean herself and told the family that they needed to get Jean back as soon as possible.

Considering Sonia’s desperation to get Jean back, could the doctor’s notes have revealed a terminal diagnosis for Jean?

Next week the Slaters finally manage to track Jean down to the caravan park.

Stacey is worried out of her mind while searching for her mum and turns to Shirley Carter for help. However they are unfortunately unsuccessful and Stacey sends her mum a voicemail message from herself and Lily.
Jean is touched when she hears the message and later decides to answer Stacey’s call to let her know that she is ok.

Stacey tries to push Jean for answers and reminds her about the appointment, but Jean refuses to tell her where she is.

Their conversation comes to an abrupt end when the campsite owner interrupts to check in on Jean. She later breaks down as the weight of everything becomes too much.

Later, Kat convinces Stacey to go to the hospital for the appointment, but she is left disappointed when her mum fails to turn up.

When she returns home Stacey realises she might be able to track Jean down after pushing Mo to remember details about an old holiday destination.

Eventually, they manage to figure out where Jean has gone and spot her – only Jean ends up locking herself inside the caravan.

Kat, Stacey and Martin try to get Jean to come out but Lily comes up with a plan.

Will she be able to get Jean to leave the caravan?
