2019 is all about two things: ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Peaky Blinders.’
Chances are you’re a fan of at least one of them (probably PB if you’ve clicked on this article) but annoyingly we’ve been feeding off scraps for a while now.
The people behind Peaky Blinders have been dangerously cautious over revealing plot details about the upcoming season, but slowly we’re finding out more.
I say this because Cillian Murphy, Paul Anderson and Helen McCrory on have been spotted filming some scenes in Stockport, England.
(Although if they’re still filming you’d imagine it’s waaaaaay of a release date.)
Check them out below:
Sam Clafin, (The Hunger Games, Pirates of the Caribbean and Me Before You) was also spotted donning a rather dapper suit on set.
The 32-year-old is reported to be playing the role of far right politician Oswald Mosley for season 5.
This comes after Golden Balls himself, David Beckham, teased fans into thinking he had landed a cameo on the show after sharing a string of images from the set.
Beckham posted selfies alongside portraits of Murphy and Paul Anderson, who plays Tommy’s older brother Arthur Shelby, sparking much speculation.
He posted another with show creator Steven Knight, writing: “Big thanks to creator, Steve Knight and the crew for looking after me. Excited for season 5
While many hoped this would lead to a potential Beckham cameo, a BBC spokesman has since confirmed to Manchester Evening News he was simply there to visit the cast.
A few days ago the former Manchester United midfielder unveiled a clothing collection in collaboration with the show.
The line, which David developed with fashion label Kent & Curwen, includes grandad shirts, waistcoats and flat caps — all of which he regularly wears.
He said: “I’m a big fan of the show and our brand has always been about the look.”
Oh how I wish he was in the upcoming season.
Imagine a world where David Beckham and Tommy Shelby work together.
The mind boggles.
