Dancing On Ice presenter Phillip Schofield had everyone apart from Gemma Collins in stitches during the final
Gemma Collins was left fuming during tonight’s Dancing On Ice final over Phillip Schofield’s jibe.
The TOWIE star, 38, was back in the studio ahead of a group performance for the evicted celebrities.
While speaking to the class of 2019, Phil said: “It’s taken a huge amount to put this series together. Over 600 costumes, 5,000 hairpins, half a million sequins…”
Turning to the GC, he cheekily added: “And that’s just Gemma.”
Phillip had everyone in stitches with his gag apart from seemingly horrified Gemma.
The GC put her arms out in frustration and muttered: “What can I say?”
Grease legend Didi Conn put her hand other her mouth in shock, while stunned former EastEnders actor Richard Blackwood’s eyes were bulging.
Phil’s co-host Holly Willoughby turned to Gemma, seemingly fearing for her response.
Gemma said: “The GC is back for one night only. Never to be seen on skates again.”
Dancing On Ice viewers took to Twitter to question whether Phil’s comment was acceptable.
One viewer said: “Phil being cheeky to Gemma to me isn’t right as he’s not like that towards any other contestant on the show”
Another asked: “Ouch was that a dig at Gemma’s size about sequins?”
A third said: ““Half a million sequins & that’s just Gemma.” I sense she’ll be making a headline out of that one.”
Earlier today, Gemma wished all of the finalists luck ahead of the final in a touching Instagram post.
She captioned a clip of her skating with: “I will be putting my skates on one last time today …. but I want to wish the amazing finalists @wes.nelson @jamesjordan1978 @saaraaalto the very best of luck you ABSOLUTELY DESERVE to be where you are it’s been a great series”
Later on, she also tweeted: “Guess who’s back to skate again GC back tell a friend”
Gemma spoke about getting her skates back on during The Jonathan Ross Show this week.
Speaking to host Jonathan, Gemma said: “The only reason I went back at him is because he went personal to me about my weight.
“He called me a refrigerator. Do you know what, I did pull out…and then I thought, for everyone that’s supported me, for my own self esteem, I’m gonna walk back into that show and I’m gonna skate like its the last day of my life.”
