Britain’s Got Talent viewers were in tears as Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were reunited on TV for the first time in almost a year.
Ant was forced to take a break from his TV commitments in 2018 to focus on rehab.
The 43-year-old was involved in a car crash in March 2018 and later pleaded guilty to drink-driving. He was fined £86,000 and banned from driving for 20 months.
Dec carried on presenting the BGT live shows alone and was later joined by Holly Willoughby on I’m A Celebrity at the end of last year.
Tonight, however, Dec was finally reunited with his best friend on the show this evening.
This evening’s intro opened to reveal Dec on his own, before he ‘magicked’ Ant alongside him.
They then made their way to the auditions, pulling judges David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden out of portraits.
With all the old crew back in the theatre, there was only one person missing – Simon Cowell. That was quickly fixed by a bit of ‘magic’ and the media mogul appeared in his seat.
And Ant and Dec’s hoards of fans couldn’t be happier to see the duo back together.
One tweeted: “I am so happy to see Ant I could cry #BGT.”
While another commented: “i’m emotional ant and dec are finally back together where they belong #bgt.”
A third remarked: “So good to see Ant back! #BGT.”
