Calling all dog lovers and dog owners! The day you’ve all been waiting for is fast approaching.
Bring Your Dog To Work Day 2019 takes place next week and it’s going to be pretty exciting.
No, you’re not dreaming, there’s an actual day, when you can bring your pampered pooch to work with you, to help you feel a little less stressed about your workload.
The only issue is, you might have to work some magic to convincing your boss to let you bring your pet in, as unfortunately not everyone is going to be keen on the idea.
The nationwide event has been taking place each year since 2014 and for 2019 it falls on Friday, June 21.
Bring Your Dog To Work Day is intended to raise money for All Dogs Matter and Animals Asia, but you can also select your own charity to raise funds for.
All Dogs Matter rescue and re-home more than 400 dogs every year in London and the surrounding area, while Animals Asia is an international charity devoted to ending the barbaric practice of bear bile farming, as well as improving the welfare of dogs and cats in China and Vietnam.
Many scientific studies have concluded that the presence of pets can help reduce a person’s stress level in the workplace.
According to the event organisers, “increased job satisfaction, team co-operation and morale have all been reported in employees that spend the workday with their pets”.
They add: “So in addition to raising funds, Bring Your Dog To Work Day is likely to boost the productivity and happiness of the employees within your company. And it means hundreds, if not thousands of pets around the UK can now go to work alongside their humans!”
it’s very simple, if you are allowed to bring your puppy along to the office for the day, you just donate £10 or more online and upload a picture of your pet to the ‘Dog with a Job Hall of Fame’.
Following this, you’ll be automatically entered into a prize draw to win hundreds of pounds worth of dog-themed goodies from the event’s sponsors.
The lucky winner will be announced on Friday, June 28.
Not every workplace is suitable for dogs, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make a difference on the day.
Instead of taking your pooch to the office, you can help raise money for All Dogs Matter by making an online donation, uploading your businesses logo or photo and by spreading the word to your friends and family on social media by using the hashtag #BringYourDogToWorkDay.
