LOVE Island champion Amber Gill’s bitter ex Michael Griffiths said she would have stolen the £50k prize money if she’d picked the right envelope in last night’s finale.
The 21-year-old beauty was crowned the winner of the 2019 series after falling for Irish rugby player Greg O’Shea.
But Michael – who left Amber heartbroken when he dumped her for Joanna Chimonides – couldn’t resist having a dig at his ex’s expense.
Speaking to Capital FM, the reality star claimed he was genuinely chuffed for Amber – despite her choosing new boy Greg over him.
Michael said: “I’m so gassed for her, like, she’s been through a mad journey and she needs that.”
But when asked if he was happy that Greg and Amber had split the £50k, he joked: “Do you know what, yeah, Amber was always going to split it anyway.
“I low key thought if she gets it she might steal it but nah, nah, nah she was always gonna split it anyway.”
“Nah, nah, nah. Amber knows we’re friends, I’m so happy for her.”
Michael became public enemy number one when he dumped Amber for Joanna during the Casa Amor stage of the show.
When Joanna was dumped from the villa, he then shocked the public by revealing he still had feelings for Amber – just a day after she’d been on a date with new guy Greg.
But when the all-important recoupling came around, Amber decided to stick with the Irish heartthrob and send Michael packing.
The move was praised by viewers and Amber and Greg quickly became one of the villa’s most popular couples – culminating in their win during last night’s finale.
