BGT’s Simon Cowell thanks Queen as Dave and Finn announce Finn’s Law has been passed

Bookies’ favourite Dave and Finn wowed with their performance on tonight’s grand final of Britain’s Got Talent.

Police officer Dave and his hero police dog Finn showed off their incredible connection once more as they cuddled and played catch in a cute video ahead of their performance.

They then took to the stage and Finn showed off his psychic capabilites once more, as he correctly guessed that Alesha would know that his favourite place was the beach and Amanda would choose the word “incredible”.

But what wowed viewers most was what happened after the performance stopped.

Once they’d finished performing, Dave announced that this week they had managed to get Finn’s Law passed.

The law, passed by the House of Lords gives protection to service dogs and horses.

It comes after Dave tirelessly campaigned for the act to be passed, as it is a cause so close to his heart.

Beloved dog Finn saved his life, as he was stabbed in the line of duty.

Dave joked the Queen had stayed up late one night to watch BGT and then ensured the law passed.

The camera shot to Simon who then added: “Thank you ma’am.”

Things then got even more emotional when a surprise guest appeared in the audience.

Ant and Dec announced that the vet who had saved Finn’s life was sat in the studio.

Dave then broke down in tears as the camera panned to the vet who was waving in the audience.

Taking to Twitter one viewer penned: “Honestly say what you want about #BGT but Finn’s Law being passed is absolutely the best thing to come out of it. Dave should be so proud of himself & Finn for their courage and what they and other handlers & their incredible animals do to protect us.”

While another added: “Am I crying at Dave & Finn again? Yes I am. Am I crying with happiness that Finn’s Law goes active Saturday? Yes I am. Even if he doesn’t win, he gained having their law going active. Such a beautiful bond.”
